The Liberator First Published (1831)

On January 1, 1831, William Lloyd Garrison printed the first issue of The Liberator in Boston: "I am in earnest — I will not equivocate — I will not excuse — I will not retreat a single inch — AND I WILL BE HEARD." It ran until slavery died.
